Sir Keith Rodney Park (1892-1975) was born in Thames, New Zealand, and served in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. He commanded No.11 Group, Fighter Command, during the Battle of Britain. Prior to joining the Royal Flying Corps (the predecessor to the RAF) in December 1916, Park served in the New Zealand Expeditionary Force and was involved in the landing at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915.
