This archive is a wonderful resource. Thank you for making so many paintings available. The caption at the top of this particular picture is incorrect. LST stands for 'Landing Ship Tank' not 'Landing Ship Transport', as your caption has it. These ships were specifically designed to carry tanks and other large vehicles.
