Born in Dunedin, Donald Forrester Brown (1890-1916) enlisted in the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in October 1915, and sailed with the 9th Reinforcements that arrived in Egypt in January 1916. He was awarded the Victoria Cross posthumously for showing "conspicuous bravery and determination in attack" on 15 September 1916, during the Battle of the Somme. He charged and destroyed enemy machine-gun positions on three occassions, while under heavy artillery fire.
Sergeant Brown was killed in action on 1 October 1916 near Eaucourt L'Abbaye, France.

I was wanting more
I was wanting more information re Donalds Forrester Brown as he was my son (Jarrod Forrester Browns) great Uncle and now he has just had a son Jack Forrester Brown,it would be interesting to know more.
Jarrods father Hugh Forrester Brown was killed in UK in a flying accident and his father Jack Forrester Brown has recently passed away.

The correct spelling of the
The correct spelling of the artist's name is O'Keeffe with two 'f's. In the section on the artist's biography you state the O'Keeffe studied in Paris between 1892 and 1895. This is incorrect. He was in Paris for less than a year, between 1894 and '95.
