R Maurice Conly, Flying boats base in islands, c.1943-1944

This painting by Conly is almost certainly RNZAF No. 6 Flying Boat Squadron base at Halavo Bay on the South Coast of Florida Island in the Solomon Islands.
Two other works of RNZAF PBY-5 Catalinas by Conly were published in Contact (February 1945). These images are on my flickr site (Adelaide Archivist).
6 Squadron operated from Halavo Bay from Christmas Day 1943 to September 1945. The publication date of his paintings in Contact suggests these works should almost certainly be dated 1944.
